Essence

Theia was designed for partially impaired users who move through the world with sound first. The phone’s camera reads the scene and returns spoken cues that feel timely and clear. AR marks points of interest. Voice becomes the primary control. The user can ask questions, request directions, and get safety prompts without hunting for buttons.

The interface reduces effort. High contrast themes, large targets, gentle haptics, and minimal copy keep attention on the path ahead. The goal was not to decorate accessibility but to make it native to the experience.

Navigation works like a dialogue. The camera observes what is in front. Theia responds with guidance, identifies objects, and sets expectations for what comes next. Stairs, crowded zones, elevators, and preferred routes are surfaced through spoken cues and simple on-screen states. AR hotspots reveal detail when needed, never more.

The system adapts to preference. Users choose visual themes, set comfort options, and move at their own pace. It feels less like using an app and more like traveling with a companion who knows the space.
